Metro Glass COVID-19 Alert Level 2 Update
Metro operations have now fully reopened, and our production and glazing capacity has continued to expand under Alert Level 2. Across New Zealand our teams have experienced a surge in demand beyond that of a normal Christmas rush. This will regrettably result in some lead-times being longer than normal for a short period of time.
Under Alert level 2 we are continuing to work under strict safety guidelines. The safety and well-being of our staff, customers, suppliers and anyone who interacts with our business, remains top of mind.
As predicted the market returned with a need to have things happen quickly and we have experienced a surge in orders. All usual product lines are now available with the normal manufacturing limitations.
Our site glazing services have resumed using a comprehensive set of Alert Level 2 compliance measures. This includes following the Construction Protocols which have been developed by the industry when on construction sites. The Glazing teams have also experienced significant lifts in demand which they are managing and working through.
Whilst each of our Metro sites are now operational, customer and supplier visits will be only allowed with prior arrangement and adherence to protocols including 2 metre physical distancing, good hygiene practises, and contact tracing. We encourage the use of virtual meetings where possible, and still have some staff working from home. Our salespeople will always contact you prior to visiting your site.
For deliveries and collections most customers and suppliers have been sent the new site protocols for the sites they visit. If unsure, please call you regular contact for instructions. These new practices will continue until further notice. Please remember your necessary PPE if you are collecting glass from one of our sites: High viz, gloves, gauntlets, eye protection, steel caps. For Hardware present yourself at the appropriate collection point outside of the building to receive your goods.
We recognize that all businesses will be restarting in a new and challenging working environment under Alert Level 2 conditions. Our priority is to create a safe working environment for our people and customers so that we are well placed to continue to supply products and services to our customers throughout.
